The laboratory developed an interdisciplinary program directly resulting from the technical activities. Thus several axis were initiated:
The development of new x-rays and gamma sensors, in particular for the development of new generation of hybrid PET/CT tomography device for biomedical imaging.
The use of the ANTARES infrastructures for the development of various deep water instruments to make research in varied fields as oceanography, submarine biology, seismology, radioactivity, geomagnetism and geochemistry.
The involving of the laboratory in European program for the development of computing grid (EGEE) for intensive distributed calculation accessible by many communities.
