CPPM is currently working on the simulation of crystal/SiPM pair in the monte carlo simulation tool GATE [1]. Inside the crystal, simulation is done by Geant4 engine and is essentially optical simulation which can be speed up by using GPU programming.

The goal of the internship is to use OptiX™ Ray Tracing Engine to simulate optical part of the pair Crystal/SiPM. OptiX™ library was already used in order to simulate SPECT system [2].
