The Belle II group at CPPM is inviting applications for two post-doctoral positions to work on searches for tau lepton flavour violating decays.
The successful candidates will be based at CPPM, Marseille, France (https://cppm.in2p3.fr), with travel to KEK, Japan.
The interest of decays involving tau leptons has been dramatically reinforced by the recent anomalies reported in tests of lepton flavour universality violation and rare B decays, suggesting a special role of the third family. In particular, in the presence of physics beyond the SM, the rates of lepton flavour violating tau decays and rare B decays into tau leptons could be just below the current experimental limits. The Belle II experiment, just starting data taking, is an ideal facility to search for these decays.
The CPPM, which has a long standing experience in particle physics accelerator experiments, is joining Belle II in 2019 with an ERC consolidator grant obtained by Justine Serrano. The post doctoral researchers will have a key role in the group, starting the data analysis activity and supervising Ph.D. students. Travel to KEK for Belle II collaboration weeks and shift are foreseen.
Review of applications will start immediately and will continue until the positions are filled.
Contract Period : 12 months renewable twice
Expected date of employment : 1 October 2019
Remuneration : Between 2606 and 3615 € monthly gross, according to work experience.
Interested physicists are invited to submit their application, including a cover motivation, curriculum vitae, list of publications and copies of university degrees. They should also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent by referees.
Applications from women are highly encouraged.
The applications should be sent to Justine Serrano: email@example.com
